Sydney Beagle, RMT

Sydney is a graduate of Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. He trained with world class instructors and enjoys using both deep tissue and/or light, subtle techniques depending on the patient’s needs and requests. He likes to hear what the patient wants out of the massage and work with them to bring the body back towards harmony.

“Body awareness is key. I like to find the root of the problem causing pain in the activities of patients. It can be from an injury, a repetitive movement we are unaware of, or posture. We can work on some changes and exercises that will prevent the symptoms from recurring. This improves your daily life and let’s you move on to new things and activities.”

Massage techniques include: Swedish massage, pregnancy massage, trigger-point therapy, myofascial release, cranio-sacral therapy, and sports massage.

These can help relieve symptoms such as chronic pain, neck and head aches, joint immobility, inflammation, scar tissue adhesions (from surgery or injuries), stress, insomnia, and respiratory problems.

Sydney has also been an active musician for many years and currently performs for various projects in Vancouver. “I have a rhythmic approach to massage. The body’s nervous system responds well to rhythm and I try to find a proper treatment rhythm for the best results.” Be sure to ask for tapotement if you are interested, as it is his speciality.

In his free time Sydney enjoys writing fantasy/sci-fi novels, rollerblading the Seawall, hiking in North Van, and spending time with friends a short ferry ride away on a Gulf Island.
