Daniela Velez, BSc (FNH), Registered Dietitian

Daniela Velez

It is a true blessing to be joining the Elements Wellness Team, whereupon I see myself flourishing as an advocate for healthy living through conscious being. My core passion in the area of nutrition lies primarily in health promotion and disease prevention. My commitment is to help individuals and communities thrive through the understanding of food and its connection with our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves.
Having lived in four different countries and ventured to life-changing travels, I hold a distinctly multicultural food experience. This exposure has granted me the opportunity to explore foods with unique nutritional properties and to appreciate the social value of food practices. Furthermore, my Latin-American roots provide a deep appreciation for traditional medicinal knowledge, leading me to recognize the therapeutic quality of food and herbs.

I completed my degree in Food, Nutrition and Health at the University of British Columbia and my one-year clinical internship for dietetics at Royal Columbian Hospital in FraserHealth. It is through the combination of my cultural and educational background that I have developed a heart-felt passion to guide others in their quest for optimal healthy eating.

Today, I continue to learn and grow. I am a Research Assistant for a vitamin D and cardiovascular health pilot study, a Pilates Instructor, a SlowFood activist, a devotional cook and a recent gardener.
