The course

Learn a whole new approach to your self-care and client practice.

"Sometimes the only way to move forward is to retreat."

Are you “Chi-ki” (cheeky, get it?)? This training is for all current and aspiring energy and wellness practitioners. We will cover the Usui/Holy Fire III Reiki Level 1 training and placement (attunement), to ensure all can participate in an inclusive environment. But what’s really the big deal?! Well, we will be incorporating new cutting-edge information around utilizing the Chinese meridian system and the Zodiac when practicing Reiki on self or others.

No previous Reiki experience is required to take this course. This training is open to all those wishing to learn how they can access their Chi-ki energy, and improve their health and mental well-being.

Are you a seasoned Reiki vet? Don’t fret! It’s never a bad thing to upgrade and boost your old attunement with the shiny new Holy Fire (Level 1) placement. Our extensive program is guaranteed to amp your Reiki practice when blending the Chinese meridians knowledge with the fundamentals of the Zodiac.

You'll learn:
  • Reiki Level 1- how to do Reiki on self and others or boost your current Reiki channel
  • The 12 main Chinese meridians as well as the extraordinary meridians and how to incorporate them into your Reiki practice
  • How the planets, astrological signs and energies align with the body, Chakras, and karmic patterns
Added Bonus:
  • Daily Yoga with Kelli
  • Daily Meditation with Stacey and Ozzie
  • Amazing dialogue, sacred insights, and inner reflection
  • Time for R&R (ahhh)

The Reiki training is a prerequisite for those wanting to take their Usui/Holy Fire III Level 2 degree. We will be offering Usui/Holy Fire III Level 2 at upcoming retreats.

Astrology

Our astrological birth chart can be viewed as a kind of user manual (vroom, vroom!). There is a wealth of information from the universe in our chart, including our strengths, challenges, emotional patterns, karmic work, and potential paths. Understanding the fundamentals of the chart can assist you in aligning to your own path and power, while also giving you more tools and frequencies to tap into when channelling Reiki to yourself or others. During the Reiki retreat, we will cover the attributes, themes, and energies of the astrological signs and planets, connect to our personal planets through guided meditation (what have they been trying to tell you?!), and discuss how to apply the energies of the astrological symbols into your treatments.

  • The concept of the natal chart imprinting on our subtle anatomy at birth
  • The celestial map of the signs, houses, and planets
  • The skillful and unskillful applications of the qualities of the signs
  • Utilizing the energies of the zodiac in a Reiki treatment
  • Yin and Yang signs
  • Elements of signs
  • Modalities (movement orientation) of the signs
  • Planets and their association with the energy centres (chakras)
  • Understanding the importance of your Moon in your natal chart for better emotional wellness
  • Where to look for karmic narratives in the natal chart and how to use this knowledge in a Reiki treatment

Room share

Most of our “Chi-ki” retreaters are traveling solo, and are open to making lifelong friends. From your questionnaire, we will be assigning you to your room (based on an occupancy of three), unless you are traveling with a couple of dear friends and wish to bunk together.

Getting there

We recommend you arrive at Juan Santa Maria International airport (SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica, one night prior to the start of the Training Retreat (Registration opens at 4pm, July 13) so that you have plenty of time to catch your shuttle or flight to Santa Teresa Beach and get settled in. From SJO or San Jose, you will have two transportation options to the Santa Teresa/Mal Pais area:

Option 1. Shuttle and ferry from SJO to the Nautilus Boutique Hotel. Once we have our group list finalized, we can arrange a group mini bus transport for those requiring it (paid directly to the Nautilus hotel). Transfer at $65USD each way. The length is approximately 5 ½ hours.

Option 2. Fly and shuttle to Santa Teresa. The quickest and easiest way to get into Santa Teresa/Mal Pais is to take a quick 25 minute domestic flight from San Jose to Tambor (reservation and payment on own), then arrange a private taxi or shuttle from Tambor to the Nautilus Boutique Hotel. Tambor airport is about 45 minutes from Santa Teresa. Once you have reserved your air itinerary, arrangements via shuttle need to be made in advance and we will be happy to connect you with the Nautilus hotel directly to do so (payment made directly with hotel).

Kelli Taylor

Kelli Taylor, is an award winning Registered Acupuncturist and graduate of the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program in Vancouver, BC. She has over 20 years experience in the natural health and wellness field. Kelli, first started her wellness journey in her early twenties when she discovered she has a rare heart disease. She gives acupuncture all the credit for helping her heal and recover after having open-heart surgery. Over the years she has added on other modalities to her tool belt including Nutrition, Reiki, Craniosacral therapy, NIS, and NAET to name a few. Kelli, first learned Reiki from Stacey Simpson in 2011 and since then has created her own unique technique to integrate the ancient healing art of Chinese medicine and the Chinese meridians with Reiki. Kelli is the owner of the award-winning Elements Wellness Centre and sees patients in her private practice there. She also puts on workshops using Yin yoga, Meditation and group Acupuncture to help with hormonal balancing, stress, anxiety and depression as well as cancer care. When Kelli is not working she loves to travel, find new vegetarian or vegan recipes and hang out hiking or walking the beach with her Bernese Mountain dog named Tuco (Daisy Mae’s boyfriend).

Stacey Simpson

Stacey Simpson, born and raised on Vancouver Island, is a globetrotting, intuitive healer with a Gemini midheaven (and hence a lot of nicknames and interests!), plenty of Virgo energy, and a dash of Leo for fun. She is on an alchemical journey to conjure up cosmic magic where she can- especially in sessions and classes with her clients. Stacey feels blessed to have studied under some of the great leaders and thinkers of mind-body-spirit therapies the last 20 years, such as Dr. Roger Woolger, William Lee Rand, Patricia Walsh, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Hillary Hitt, and Anodea Judith. She is a certified Deep Memory Process (past and current life regression) therapist, an Usui/Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki teacher and practitioner, a soul path astrologer with a passion to integrate the cosmos with the body, and a student of fasting based on the principles of dharma. Stacey has lived in Japan and Colombia, and has travelled through more than 45 countries. With her anthropologist eye and zeal for life, she has a great appreciation for culture, art, architecture, food, and fashion. She also enjoys a good laugh and a well placed bon mot.

Ozzie Kipnes

Ozzie Kipnes, born in Israel, but a long time Vancouverite (Canada) fell in love with alternative therapy when she experienced her first acupuncture session back in 2007. At that time, she was dealing with ongoing health issues and had such a profound experience (feeling her own energy) that she soon preferred eastern medicine over western medicine whenever possible. In 2011, determined to learn the fundamentals about Reiki in order to work on herself, and occasionally on her family and dogs, she started this path under the guidance of Stacey Simpson. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that she’d be a Usui /Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Teacher and Practitioner teaching Reiki at retreats and working as a practitioner in Vancouver. Early on in her practice, she saw first-hand how physical healing helped her rescue dog Charlie and became motivated to be certified as a Reiki Animal Practitioner and offers her services to cats, dogs, and horses in person or distance. To relax, she loves meditation, yoga, and cooking. Travel and interior design fuel her love for people, places and beautiful things. She can often be spotted on trails with her Bernese Mountain dog Daisy Mae.
